Re-opening of services provided by the Eye Expert

by | 11th June 2020

I am pleased to announce that I am once more able to offer a service to patients at Admiral House as part of Exeter Eye and our partners Ramsay health.  Things will be very different to the pre-lockdown era with priority given to your health and minimising the risk of infection to you and to our staff.  When you have an appointment arranged, I will phone you prior to the clinic date to discuss your current situation in detail to minimise the amount of time required at Admiral House.  The clinic time will be for examination of the eye, performing tests and then a brief discussion of the findings and the best way of managing your condition.  You should be driven to Exeter Eye in your own car by someone who is a member of your household and have your mobile phone on you.  Once I am ready to see you, I will phone you and ask you to go to the front door.  You will have a contactless temperature check and be given a mask to wear.  I will also be wearing an FFP3 mask.  There will be no other patient in the out-patient area during your consultation.  If we decide to perform an operation you will need to socially isolate for 2 weeks prior to surgery and we will arrange a COVID-19 test within 72hrs of surgery.  I hope you feel reassured by these new measures and happy that we are able to offer consultations and surgery in the safest possible environment
