Peter Simcock had extensive training prior to becoming a consultant in all aspects of eye surgery at highly respected teaching hospitals including Manchester Royal Eye Hospital, Charing Cross Hospital and Moorfields Eye Hospital in London. 


He also had specialist training in medical and surgical retinal problems including a vitreoretinal surgical fellowship under the guidance of Prof David McLeod at the Manchester Royal Eye Hospital. He is referred complicated cataract patients who are at high risk of complications as he has special expertise in dealing with these challanging cataract cases. He has continued to update his skills in cataract and retinal surgery since his appointment to the West of England Eye Unit in 1996.
